Dr. Wilson treats musculoskeletal issues and sports injuries including minimally invasive reconstructive and restorative joint procedures, arthroscopic surgical procedures, muscle repair, bone fractures, ligament reconstruction, conservative arthritis procedures (injections and/or therapy), and more.
 
Local athletes will see a familiar face when visiting this clinic. Dr. Wilson and Nurse Practitioner Walter Matheny are on-field providers for Minden’s high school athletics programs. They are wholly involved in the supervision, injury recovery, rehabilitation of local athletes.
 
Dr. Wilson performs surgeries at Minden Medical Center. For surgical patients, Dr. Wilson is hands on from the very first visit to total recovery. 

Meet the Physician

Mark Wilson, MD

Dr. Mark Wilson is a highly educated and experienced orthopedic surgeon with a reputation for full recovery.

After medical school and an orthopedic residency, Dr. Wilson completed a Sports Fellowship at the University of Wisconsin.  There, he enhanced his expertise in team sports medicine and complex arthroscopic surgical techniques. While in Wisconsin, he cared for Division 1 University of Wisconsin Badgers on and off the field. During his tenure, he co-authored multiple peer reviewed articles.

After his prestigious sports fellowship, Dr. Wilson joined Minden Medical Center and established Wilson Orthopaedic’s and Sports Medicine in Minden, LA.

Dr. Wilson is very passionate about Sports Medicine, evident by his presence on sidelines every Friday night during football season. He is a true sports surgeon who holds a special interest in joint restoration surgeries. He is an expert in shoulder, hip, and knee arthroplasty.

In his free time, Dr. Wilson is a family man who loves spending time with his children. He is a man of faith and is involved with mission trips, community service, and a weekly Life Group. Of course living in Louisiana, he has developed a passion for deep sea fishing, duck hunting, and losing multiple golf balls when time permits.
