From a very young age, Danielle Thomas knew she wanted to be a doctor. In her small hometown, family medicine was a way of life. The very same doctor who delivered her was also the doctor who cared for her entire family, always listening and familiar with their family history.
When she moved from her small town, her experience with family medicine swiftly changed. Danielle found a primary doctor, but was referred out to specialists for simple procedures. This was quite a change from the care and comfort of her hometown primary care physician.
Dr. Thomas graduated from Ross University School of Medicine and finished her residency at Louisiana State University in the Rural Family Medicine program. When Danielle became Dr. Thomas, she knew family medicine was her passion making it clear that she “wants to be the doctor who can treat everything in (her) scope without referring out.” That is exactly what she is doing right here in the heart of downtown Minden. Dr. Thomas enjoys getting to know her patients through long-term relationships. She also believes in making shared and informed decisions with her patients about what is best for their health. Healthcare partnerships between doctors and patients make for the greatest outcomes.
