How our exams help you

Computed Tomography (CT Scans)

The CT department utilizes a computerized axial tomographic (CT) scanner that emits X-ray beams from multiple angles, generating sectional images of body parts through computer analysis. The information provided by the CT scanner is invaluable for diagnostic purposes. A trained CT technologist operates the equipment under the supervision of a radiologist.

Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear medicine employs low-dose radioactive agents to delineate bodily organs, including the brain, liver, lungs, and thyroid, thereby assisting your physician in diagnosis.

The typical dose of radioactive material used is minimal, and the advanced sensitivity of modern detection equipment ensures that even small traces are sufficient for most diagnostic evaluations. The radioisotopes employed are non-explosive, do not generate heat, and do not cause sterility. Both radiologists and technologists are thoroughly trained in the safe handling and control of radioactive materials.

Ultrasound

Diagnostic ultrasound complements the extensive imaging capabilities offered by Minden Medical Center, benefiting both medical patients and staff.

X-Ray & Digital Fluoroscopy

The X-ray department operates under the supervision of a radiologist, a physician specializing in disease diagnosis through X-ray imaging. The radiologist evaluates your X-rays in conjunction with your medical history and prepares a comprehensive report for your physician. X-rays are conducted by registered X-ray technologist who have received specialized training in this field.  We offer a full range of complete bone and joint x-ray studies, including chest x-rays, joint arthrography and traditional x-ray imaging. We also offer modified barium  swallows, esophagrams and small bowel series.
