MINDEN MEDICAL CENTER OPEN $6.7 MILLION MULTISPECIALTY CLINIC IN HAUGHTON

HAUGHTON – Community leaders and officials from Minden Medical Center and Allegiance Health Management opened in January and will be hosting a Ribbon Cutting on Tuesday, February 29 from 11 am to 1 pm.  . Our $6.7 million multispecialty clinic in Haughton is 14,633 square feet.  We will have primary care, pediatrics with plans to have orthopaedics, podiatry, ENT services, and WorkFit Industrial Medicine all coming to Haughton.  The Minden Medical Clinic of Haughton is the first of its kind in the area.

“We are pleased to offer the Haughton community healthcare that is rooted in the community,” said Interim  Karen Stem.  “There is clearly a demand for a multispecialty clinic in the area to serve the needs of the community and people of Haughton.  The addition of these services fills that need within this community.”

Located just 16 miles from Minden Medical Center, Haughton was the next natural location for the hospital to expand its services.  “We are passionate about rural health,” said Rock Bordelon, President and  of Allegiance Health Management. “I have made it my mission to ensure smaller communities across Louisiana have the access to services that the big cities offer.”

Minden Medical Clinic of Haughton is extremely happy to be in their new building at 170 Healthcare Drive across from Haughton Middle School and next to the Haughton Splash pad.  Dr. Daniel Piotter, a family medicine doctor in Haughton, Louisiana and is affiliated with Minden Medical Center.

Dr. Daniel Piotter received his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. He is a Family Medicine Doctor with special training and skill in family-centric healthcare.

As a Family Medicine Doctor, Dr. Piotter performs medical history analysis, diagnostics, and treatments for a wide variety of dysfunctions, conditions, and injuries. His medical specialty is devoted to the medical care of the family unit.

Significant diseases and conditions treated include cold and flu, asthma and allergies, ear and eye infections, yeast infections, diabetes, high blood pressure, hormone imbalance, nutritional imbalance, stress and depression, muscle tears and sprains, and sexually transmitted diseases.

Medical tests, procedures and therapies include annual exams, immunizations, medication refills, hormone level testing, cardiovascular testing, pap smears and genital exams, specialist referrals, and patient education.

Dr. Piotter is also an Emergency Medicine Doctor in the Minden Medical Center Emergency Department. He has special training and skill in addressing urgent illnesses and injuries in patients of all ages. As an Emergency Medicine Doctor, Dr. Piotter performs in trauma centers, intensive care units, and emergency rooms and sees patients with severe injuries, trauma, sepsis, burns, acute coronary syndrome, poisoning, heart attack, and stroke.

Medical tests, procedures and therapies provided by Emergency Medicine Doctors include CPR, ECG, projection radiography, CT scan, x-ray, blood testing, suturing, inserting chest tubs, setting bones, and admitting patients into hospitals.

Dr. Piotter has expertise in treating chronic diabetes, obesity/overweight, chronic high blood pressure, among other conditions.

When he is off work his hobbies include collecting vinyl records, playing the bass guitar and ukulele, Olympic lifting at team meets, watching and playing hockey games, and barbecuing for friends.

Also in the Minden Medical Clinic of Haughton is Ray Brown a Nurse Practioner.  Ray was born in Shreveport, LA, with strong ties to our north Louisiana community with friends and family across the region. He and his family have lived in Minden for the last 25 years, but just recently moved to Benton.  He has been married for 33 years and we have been blessed with 3 amazing children and 1 grandchild.

Dr. Kirstin Mosley, Pediatrics, attended Medical School in New Orleans at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center.   Upon graduation she was accepted in Shreveport to attend Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center for her pediatric training.  She is living out her lifelong dream of being a Pediatrician.  She has had a passion of caring for children since before she can remember. This Cajun girl was originally from Houma, Louisiana.  She grew up as an Army “brat” who spent her young years moving frequently.  She wanted to settle back in her beloved home state of Louisiana for college and thereafter.  After meeting her husband she was drawn to North Louisiana.  She enjoys family time, outdoors, lakes and beaches.  She is looking forward to planting a life-long roots in North Louisiana with friends, family, peers and patients and dreams of serving other and being a pediatrician becomes reality.

One day a week Dr. Vincent Lococo, Board Certified in Family Medicine, attended Medical School and Residency at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport.  Dr. Lococo joins Dr. Piotter, Ray and Dr. Mosley seeing patients at the Minden Medical Clinic of Haughton.  Dr. Lococo brings 27 years of emergency room experience to the clinic.  He has served in ERs in West Carroll Hospital, Natchitoches Parish Hospital, DeSoso Regional, E.A. Conway, Minden Medical and Springhill Medical Center.  He is affiliated with Pilgrim Manor Guest Care, Carrington Place, Whispering Pines Community Care Center and Old Brownlee Community Care Center.

Dr. Lococo served in US Army from 1983-86 and the US Army Nation Guard from 1986 to 2004 where he honorably retired as 0-4, Major.

In addition to his medical career, Ray has been in the Army National Guard for many years, and continue to serve there as a medical officer for a combat engineering battalion. He has been deployed both overseas in combat areas and locally within our state to respond to natural disasters such as hurricanes, tornados, and floods. Ray considers it a great privilege to serve with some of our finest young men and women and to help when needed for our nation and state.

Ray Brown has been in the medical field since 1990 in both very urban and rural locations in areas such as Emergency Medicine, Hospital Medicine, Occupational Medicine, Intensive Care, and Primary Care.

He has accumulated many years of valuable patient care experience, and developed networking contacts with specialists and other providers in our area.

Ray is able to serve in this community forming partnerships with patients to help them with their health goals.
