MMC's Baby Place recently received the Above and Beyond award from The Gift. The Gift Above and Beyond Award recognizes a Gift Designated facility each year that demonstrates a high level of breastfeeding promotion and support and also shows significant improvement in breastfeeding rates over time. We are proud to enhance our maternity care practices and receive recognition for our efforts as we work toward achieving the Baby Friendly USA designation! Huge Thank You to Dana Haynes, Mandi Hart and all of our Labor & Delivery and Nursery nurses for setting such high standards of care in Minden.
Minden Medical Center received their ninth“A” grade in the Spring 2016 Hospital Safety Score, which rates how well hospitals protect patients from preventable medical errors, injuries and infections within the hospital. Minden Medical Center is the ONLY hospital in Louisiana to receive straight A’s since this initiative began in 2012.
In 2013, making this the third year in a row, Minden Medical Center was recognized as one of the nation’s Top Performers on Key Quality Measures by The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of health care organizations in America. As a top performer, MMC ranks among only 1,099 hospitals recognized. This represents the top 33% of all Joint Commission-accredited hospitals reporting accountability measure performance data for 2012. This achievement demonstrates MMC's commitment to assuring that evidence-based interventions are delivered in the right way and at the right time - because it's the right thing to do. MMC was recognized for: Heart Attack, Heart Failure, Pneumonia & Surgical Care.
Becker's Hospital Review named Minden Medical Center in 2013 among the "100 Great Community Hospitals," a list based on hospitals' quality of care and service to community. The hospitals listed have fewer than 550 beds and are often located in rural areas as the only hospitals in their communities. Whether independent or part of a larger health system, the Becker’s 100 Great Community Hospitals have worked with limited resources to continually provide the quality of care and the experience patients expect.
The American College of Radiology (ACR) awarded a three-year term (2013-2017) of accreditation in mammography to the Breast Care Center of Minden Medical Center. This gold seal of accreditation represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety.
Minden Medical Center was chosen as one of the “100 Top Hospitals” by Thomson Reuters in 2003, 2009, and 2011. This award signifies achieved excellence in clinical outcomes, patient safety, patient satisfaction, financial performance, and operation efficiency. Only (2) hospitals in Louisiana have received recognition three times.
The Baby Place is known for its Gold Seal of Approval™ for healthcare quality from The Joint Commission. The Medical Center received the Maternal/Child Specialty Certification for Normal Deliveries. Minden Medical Center’s program is the first and only one of its kind in Louisiana and the second in the nation to achieve this certification. The Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval™ validates that the Baby Place at MMC consistently demonstrates a commitment to a higher standard of service.
Minden Medical Center Joint Center of Excellence is a Really Hip (and Knee) Joint! Our Joint Center of Excellence earned the Gold Seal of Approval for health care quality from The Joint Commission. The Medical Center received the Disease-Specific Care Certification for hip and knee joint replacement. In 2010 Minden Medical Center's program was the first and only one of its kind in Louisiana, and one of only 100 in the nation to achieve this certification. As of 2014 only one other Joint Hip Center of Excellence is in all of Louisiana.
Minden Medical Center is also part of a select and distinguished group of hospitals in the United States to be designated as a Community Value 100TM and Community Value Five-StarTM Provider for 2010. This accomplishment provides evidence that they are operating efficiently, charging reasonably, and providing high quality services. In addition, they are reinvesting to continue great care in their community.
